The Presidental's Message

"Many conservatives expressed fear over the past week that the presiden'ts address woud be used to push a partisan political agenda." (CNN) However, there was nothing to cause concern in the speech itself. Obama was merely trying to inspire young people across America to study hard in school. He told stories of specific teenagers who were able to get somewhere in life by working hard and staying focused, these stories including himself. His speech wasn't much different from the ones that my parents give, what seems like, every other week. The rise of controversy seems to have come from the fear that many parents had about their children being brainswashed by the government. However, by not allowing kids and teenagers, who are the future of this country, to be fully aware of what is happening in the world around them and letting them become educated to make informed decisions, aren't they being brianwashed then also?
